EG Coles was delighted to supply a Kubota M4063 ROPS tractor to Dorset Fencing Supplies, a leading provider of fencing materials to farmer, small-holders, and companies.
The Kubota M4063, known for its reliability, fuel efficiency, and versatility, will support the company’s growing operations by assisting with loading, hauling and material handling at their Dorset yard. The decision to purchase was driven by the company’s need for durable and reliable equipment for its operations.
“We’re thrilled to see this tractor go to a business that will put it to good use,” said Nick Pike, EG Coles’s Agricultural Sales Manager. “The M4063 is a dependable machine, and it will absolutely meet the requirements of Dorset Fencing Supplies.”
Dorset Fencing Supplies
Formed in 2009, Dorset Fencing Supplies has grown into a specialist agricultural fencing materials supplier. Owner and founder, Hugh Gulliford, says,
“We were looking for something to fill the gaps between demolition jobs, which was the main work at that time. From a farming, and fencing background, I had often used reclaimed telegraph poles as fencing strainers and gate posts and was impressed by how effective this was. We took delivery of the first artic load of scrap poles in November 2008, and we quickly established a market for our product. The rest is history! We now aim to process five hundred reclaimed poles per week and always have way more demand than our ability to supply. Our customer base is huge, covering the whole of the UK, but mostly based in the southwest region.”
“Our Chestnut peeling and pointing line is powered by PTO, and we have used a 1970s Deutz 6860 as the main power source for the last 10 years. Bought in a farm sale it had clocked up over 15,000 hours, with nothing more than oil and filter services, countless starter motors and alternators and four tractors. What a tractor! Sadly, something let go in the engine, and so it seemed the right time for an upgrade. After looking at various options, a phone call to Nick Pike led to a demonstrator Kubota arriving in the yard. Nick’s father and my father both had tenancies of council farms at Twyford, near Shaftesbury, so we have known each other a long time.”
“The production manager, Ben Elford was very impressed with the simplicity of the tractor, and it performed all the tasks admirably. A new M4063 was ordered, with the addition of 1000 speed PTO, and a pickup hitch. This means it can also be put to work in quieter periods, either doing light field work duties, or powering the TP woodchipper.”
“We are really pleased with the new machine. The 5 year/5,000 hour warranty gives us the confidence, that the next few years of powering the peeler should be trouble free.”
This sale marks a continued partnership between EG Coles and its customer base of local agricultural and supply businesses, reinforcing the importance of quality equipment in supporting our rural industries.
